  • Upgrading to OEM CD stacker/changer?

    Hi guys

don't know anything about sound or stereos. so i'm sorry if this sounds stupid.

i just have a stock CD (mp3 compatible) player in my car.. wondering if there's any way I can upgrade to an OEM CD changer. Is it impossible cos it's linked up the whole dash or something?

Will it be possible if I get an external Unit instead of OEM?

    Thanks

Hi mate, I picked up an OEM Blakpunt stacker to fit my MK IV. Plugged straight into the back on the stock headunit. Can't really see why you couldn't do the same on a MK V. Maybe get hold of current brochure or check out a parts list to see if they're compatible. My stacker is in the boot and came with the cables to run under the carpet..

i'm pretty sure you can. keep a lookout on ebay they come up every now and again for peanuts (cheap enough that you can buy and experiment without wasting too much money )

Alternatively you can gor for xcarlink which your system will recognise as a stacker, but you don't need the space as you load tracks/albums/playlists on a usb stick.
