Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • TDI tune recommendations (DPF delete)

    Hey everyone,

Posting in here (for a friend) rather than diesels as I am wondering if anyone knows who does the most reliable TDI tunes in Melbourne.

The car in question may be undergoing an EGR and DPF delete, and I have heard the word Malone mentioned a lot, however wondering if anyone has had any experience with etuners or underground performance as well?

Hmm thanks for the information, I see he has done some work with DPF's on a few cars. I am a bit unsure on a lesser known tune.

I am currently trying to work out the differences between an Underground Performance tune and a Malone tune?

I got an Underground Performance tune on my 2011 Skoda Octavia Scout diesel which I bought second hand. It had had a pretty hard life. I got a tune only, no deletes. I’m very happy with it. I was getting random CEL’s prior to the tune and occasionally afterwards but touch wood it’s been fine for the last 3 months and maybe 8,000k’s. I got a very noticeable improvement in power and torque and fuel consumption is if anything better than before.
