Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Mk7 Golf R Catted Downpipe Options

What are the current options for a catted (200 or 300 cell) performance downpipe for a MK7 R in Australia?

I've searched but couldn't find anything about what our options are at the moment with most of the info on the other forums relating to the American (LHD versions) options.

I've seen Milltek (lots of $$$$) and CTS (half the price of Milltek but imported so might get hit with duty and tax?) but surely there must be more local options than that?

    Cheers, R

Exoticars Does CTS, they have some in stock.

    I have a Milltek DP 200 cell.
"Forced induction" sounds like some sort of sexual assault.
i drive a Golf 7R tuned by APR + exoticars

Thanks, I'll give Exotic a call and see what they're charging.

Where did you get your Milltek and what did you pay fitted (if you don't mind me asking)?

Go to a reputable exhaust shop and get one made up. They're generally well priced.

I'm resurrecting this old thread as I'm definitely looking to install a performance downpipe now (first and last service by VW has been completed - will be going independent from now on) to go with my JB4 and soon to order BMS Intake.

Can anyone recommend a local independent (preferably a VAG specialist) close to the inner west of Sydney that can supply and install a reputable performance DP (with or without CAT)?

          Cheers, R
