Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Superchips Bluefin ECU remap for Golf VI

Hey guys, first post. After browsing the forums on ECU remaps I have finally gone ahead and purchased a bluefin superchips remap for my Golf VI. I just wanted to add my positive feedback for this tune. Totally transforms the car!!

I got mine from Peter James (peter@superchips.co.nz) the distributer from superchips - always emailed back straight away and keeps promises! Highly recommend

          also bluefin here since 2011.

          no dramas, no hiccups.

the only complain is my stg 1 cant beat AMG A45s (that come 265kw fr the factory...) and WRX STIs (that also come with POWAAr and plus E85 fuelling) [emoji14]

Superchips website has all the stats for you car. Then email Peter or your local superchips distributor for a price.

They are $949 as I'm one of the resellers here in Melbourne but your local man will also be able to help too. And yes probably more expensive than you guys paid but that's the exchange rate for you...

I know it's cheaper but the torque you get out of the APR is a lot higher

Anyone with a Mk7 GTI using a Bluefin unit?

I also understand that the unit does a reflash of your ECU, so I guess the dealership will be able to tell that it's been tuned even if you remove the flash prior to a service?

                          Yep!!

Wow, just had a look and they're claiming 230kW and 460Nm for the Mk 7 GTI. That's damn impressive for the standard GTI. Might have to look at upgrading my Mk 2 Occy to the Mk 3!!!

Although they're claiming the stock GTI Mk 7 makes 198kW? Meh?

Their stock figures for the Mk 3 occy look more reasonable and compare to the VW stock figures.
