Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Some nice figures there

I had 100 hp ATW out of my stock standard 89' gti 1.8 16V (150+k miles). On a very warm day, and needing a service.
Fueling was 12.1-12.4 all the way though so pretty spot on I'm told for an exhaust tip figure.
Still feels quick as, an surprises a lot of other cars.

i got 110.7 hp at the wheels in my 2.1l 8v that was with just the standard mk1 gti exhaust with a 2 inch pipe after where the 2 standard pipes meet under the gear shift.. i later on got hold of 4 to 1 extractors and put a 2.5 inch exhaust.. but i never dynoed it with that mod..

Not everybody can afford to dyno their car just for a piece of paper.

It costs $50 to dyno a car ?
Hardly excessive in my books

Sif everyone desnt want to know how much power there car is putting out

Doesnt a dyno also tell you the health of your engine? If its running lean, pinging, flat spot etc...
This would def be worth the $50.

Bugracer how much are Sydney dynos, ? are they really $50
I don't think they put your car on here for under $130 before they start.
                          Thats my point.
$50 a go would be worth it for sure.

Last dyno day I organised it cost $60 which included 2 runs , sometimes 3 runs to those that wanted it and all you can eat BBQ and drinks . I shall be organising another one in August ? I'll let you guys know closer to the date . At the moment I need to prep some cars for the drags . After the drags I have a few big turbo conversions to do , once they are done I can work out an exact date
