give my mate a call at VW Audi Garage. his name is Adam and it is located at 59 Johnston St, Southport. his number is 0405 340 725, just tell him that you spoke to Rhys (me) from this website, and i told you to give him a call. just have a chat to him about what you want to do and see if he can help out. he's pretty bloody knowledgeable on the old VW's and AUDI's and charges a very good price.

    Cheers mate,
    Rhys

      Hey Chris

What brand supercharger are you using, how much did it cost ya and where did you get it from?
Thats what I want to eventually do to my 2.0L.
At the moment Its got a 2.0" exhaust, Giac chip and cam, port work, K&N filter. With the supercharger it will be even better.

good point! If there was a more powerful version of my car, i'd save up and eventually buy it. (I know MK5 is more powerful, but a few simple mods gave me that power) Why go through so much trouble? IMO, its not worth it.

The power is about 100-110kw at the wheels, that isn't all that much when you look at some of the figures the gti's are getting but its not bad at all.

These are the dyno firgures running 5psi.

In stock trim, the 2.0-litre VW engine can manage only 95.9 hp at the wheels. With the Neuspeed blower up and running, power climbed to 132.1 hp(almost 100kw) at the wheels. Considering the scarcity of parts for the 2.0-litre, this is a hard-hitting modification.
                Torque jumped from a base of 112.8 lb-ft to 140 lb-ft.

So with a chip, exhaust, cam, port work and intercooled you could get some serious horsepower.

                  I say go for it.

A cross flow 8v with a puffer would be cool. And why not do something a little different. Supercharged engines are so much better to drive over turbocharged crap.

And at the end of the day, if you are very happy with your car and just want a bit more power, why not go for something better and different like a supercharger?

Having the most power isn't everything, not everyone needs 400 horsepower with NO bottom end.

Supercharging is something i wanted to do with my 2004 2.0l Sport when i had it. Would have been fantastic.

Do it, and good for you for not buying a GTI like everyone else.

yer just want to be different until in a couple of years i can save up & get myself a mk4 r32
and as far as power goes it still is and will be a daily driver so i have to take that into account but at the same time i want a few horses under my right foot
and i have thought about puting a vr6 motor in it etc etc... but why bother when they made a god like car called the r32 that i can (will down the track) buy instead of the hasle of a engine swap with mine
