I give you a hint; if you want to know who is the mod here, look at the forum's page. If you're asking just to jab, then I strongly suggest that you start posting in the normal manner like many of us do.
Thanks for the information re mods.I did look at the forum page, checked to see who was the moderator. Then noted said moderator had not deleted my posts, upon finding out that it was someone else. That's why I asked the question.OK
With the interceptors (I think I've said it before here somewhere) there is only so much you can do before the EGTs rise to unhealthy levels simply because the boost is typically not modified. Usually its only the rail pressure that's had it value distorted to make the ECU think its lower than it actually is so it then pumps more fuel to try and reach its set target, more fuel = more power so there's no denying they do work and value for money they would be hard to beat but really it all depends on what you are after. Certainly I would treat the claimed power and torque figures with a bucket of salt because at the end of the day there is only so much you can achieve with the hardware no matter who does it. Some of them claim more than you could ever achieve even with a full tune so it's no different to the Petrol world of tuning as far as optimistic claims go anyway.
I should add that with some chips it is possible to modify boost so you could in theory get the EGT's down a bit and perhaps be able to inject more fuel by upping the rail pressure even more but its still going to be down on a tune and the time it takes to get it right would put it into normal tune price category anyway. I'm actually doing just this on a Landcruiser V8 next week in Perth fitted with dual Rapid modules as its the only option we have.
I don't mind upsetting people occasionally but I prefer not to be taken too seriously most of the time

Ok read this with regards boost as well as fuel pressure.
I would definitely get that one over the other rail only version. If you had a decent EGT gauge you could then adjust the boost a bit if the options allow making the tune safe(r) or it could be that they just run things a touch lower than the maximums to maintain safe values anyway. Its getting close to tune prices though but for an encrypted ECU its an option I guess.
My tuned version will still beat it
Mmmm ,so which VAG is your tuned version? And beat it in what way? With a stick? or torque ? or acceleration, roll-ons ? Dyno?... Do you know what I have? ..........Go the unicorn lol

How about posting up some before after dynos with the DTUK box on your car or better still take your car along to a dyno day with other VAG cars for a real world comparison? I've personally found this the best way to get a good idea on the performance between different cars with various stages/levels of modifications.
Parso does custom tuning for a living so knows a thing or 2 about tuning cars and also the various options out there in the marketplace for tuning. Depending on how much time is invested, a custom tune will generally outperform a "generic" tune for the same car. Most tuners will have a level of safety built into the tune to ensure they don't cause issues. With a custom tune you can push the envelope a little further due to 1:1 tune instead of having to make sure the tune is going to be "safe" on every car of a particular model/engine type.
Every engine is slightly different, so custom tuning if it's done right will extract the last few kW that are safely available. That would be why the Lemans cars aren't running intercept boxes/generic tunes and use guys like Parso to fine-tune their engines to get the best performance on the track.
I understand the attraction of tuning/interceptor boxes for those with "locked" ECU's as there are a lot less options available - especially for diesels. Even more so if you're in a more remote location and don't have access to a tuner that can either do custom tuning like Parso or have the tools to flash tune the ECU.
If you really want to add some value to this thread I suggest you get some independent testing done on your car that you can then share with others. This would provide some real benefit to other forum members who may be considering purchasing a DTUK unit.
OK here goes, I don't want this to be seemed as anti flash tune/custom tune. I am sure a custom tune will deliver the best HP/Torque performance gains, but at what $ cost? What I am trying to say, for the tuning box that for a lot less $ you can get 95% of the performance upgrade of a custom tune. Without the hassle of ECU removal, bench flash and warranty issues. There certainly seems to be a lot of negativity towards tuning boxes here in Aus. Whereas in Europe, where there is much more diesel tuning than here, it is an excepted practice.. Maybe because here in Aus,we are still influenced by petrol turbocharged tuning rather than diesel.
Having had four petrol cars chipped/flashed over the years, two of which were absolutely terrible and two were great, not naming names. To having two diesel tuning boxes that have both been great. Performance and economy improvements.
For those that are interested have a look at Briskoda for all the positive views re tuning boxes.
Diesel tuning boxes have come on a long way over the last couple of years with different tunes available in one box. Keep an open mind.

So, it worked for you, maybe you were lucky and few others were lucky as well and shared their luck in the forum?
But, that's unfortunately a very small example/sample/test.
How would you like if the health organisations had tested a new flu vaccine on 2 people and 2 out of 2 had no adverse affects? After which they'd say, "yes people the new flu vaccine is a success, it's safe to use".
I would run.
