I find in-gear times pretty good. Takes away the human element of having to change gears, etc & you can get away with it on a quiet road without looking too much like a hoon
carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
tune only, tune + another mod (i already have an intake)
coming from jap and local cars, im just surprised by how expensive parts and tuning for euro cars is, part of me cant get past the fact its just blatant price gouging

Umm no, not really, it might seem to be the case but consider that to tune say a WRX/STI all you need is a 200 US dongle and some brains. That clever little dongle will work on anything from 2001 to 2014 whereas a Euro you are looking at 20K worth of gear that will outdate itself fairly quickly. You also have to pay huge sums for software (four figures) and then there are the yearly updates (four figures again) plus individual protocol packs/checksums packs and definitions for each family of ECU's and more (lots of $) and then you have to actually know what you are doing with all this so you may have to attend training courses in Europe or elsewhere and then after all this perhaps pay for a basefile or 100. Not many workshops can run at a loss like this for any length of time which is why you see quite a number rise and then fall shortly afterwards. The Tuning process itself is also far more complex than anything anybody here normally deals with too.
but I still think its worth it - I'm sick like that
Id like to see the comparison!! Time, place, date and I'm there. I'm betting on Guy H, who happens to have the fastest golf r on this planet! Hahahahaha
