See if it was like this one from last week (almost complete here) then it would be more realistic.
See 225 is pretty much beyond the realms of possibility with the turbo unless you are doing things to improve the efficiency of the whole package the turbo is maxed out absolutley as we can see here
With a 98RON WMI K04 car - also from last week, optimised timing and boost mapping so there is just nothing left in the top end.
Thats real

To the original poster anleizhang - If you would like your car to be used as a comparison test between "Recode" software & APR at an independent dyno, I would be more than happy to oblige.
I would suggest Mainline Dyno's HQ and run by the Mainline's operators (Todd & Craig). We would love to see a back to back test of the two versions of software on the same car at the same dyno. I am more than happy to pay for the dyno time and I can send one of my dealers to Mainline to flash your car with APR.
If it turns out that the "Recode" makes more power & torque and better curves than the APR on the same car, same day, I'll give you a $1000 gift voucher to use on our hardware at any of our dealers.
Of course we need "parso_rex" to agree to the challenge.
Failing this, if anyone else has a Golf R they would like to run back to back with the same hardware, please let me know.

Hmm so whats in it for me ? I do like your cat back exhausts ?
The thing is, typically, I would spend more than one day on tuning a car to this level with quite deal of time on the dyno logging and then responding with further files to the data I have seen in the logs. I have no problem with any sort of comparison but in my case it costs both money and time - not just a singular cut and paste of a generic file unfortunately - for me anyway and yes I'm not typical of most in this scene here.
With reference to the thread above my reason for posting is to correct misinformation regarding data that I deal with on a daily basis, it's not a weird stab at APR (who believe it or not I would certainly rate well above some other vendors here without question and I'm happy to go in that that if need be) its just that I hate seeing information from very sophisticated machines being manipulated in order to sell products - That is just BS IMO. Be realistic claim consistent 210 atw and I can't deny it, claim something that is beyond the capabilities of the K04 with that hardware and fuel and I"m sorry somebody just has to raise a response... but no one here bats an eyelid. I don't enjoy it at all but make no apologies either because its reality. I've said it before in other threads try this stuff on a jap tuning forum and you'd be shot down in technical flames.
WSID works well for most of our customers

So that's a race car with WMI injection? We are talking about street legal cars I thought (based on the original poster) that run 98 ron & have legal injection & emission systems. If the Mainlines can be fudged as you imply above - how do we know about the ones you show?
Yes that 225 car is not street legal officer but it's showing you what the K04 will do when maxed out at the top end and with WMI you've actually modified the BSFC of the engine so its more efficient. It does spin all 4 atw though and also has antilag ....my crystal ball says an 11 second quarter for the heavier S3 is no problem - not unlike what you would expect that similarly powered R in SA to do if the figures above are to be taken as gospelLast edited by parso_rex; 16-05-2014, 10:25 PM.

will save the CAI and exhaust change for the later. Do you suggest the rail valve needs to be changed at the same time with the HPFP?
CHeerS!
PS. There is no harm in having the valve and getting the APR tune. My car has the valve and it has no ill effects on the performance or reliability.Last edited by Scuby_snax84; 19-05-2014, 12:31 PM.

Yes, the Dyno's are not any form of reliable numbers to be banked on.
We just spent 2 days with the Mainline boys last week at a big press event & it very successfully demonstrated how you could remove between 30 & 120kw's from a Mainline Dyno figure.
It was an interesting exercise with 23 cars varying from 1.6l Turbo to 7.0 litre supercharged (and V12 Normally aspirated), in FWD, AWD & RWD formats. Power figures varied between 15 & 120kw's different to competitors own dyno's with different setups.
To the OP - the offer still stands if you wish to help out in a comparison.

Yes well I think we picked the two most controversial topics and bundled them together into 1 thread:
1)ECU Tuning
2)Dyno performance
On a side note that Golf R that was mentioned above is heading back on the Dyno this weekend: SA Dyno Day II - 8am Saturday 24th May
There will be a couple of Mk6 Golf R's running along with an Ed 35, 2 x Sciroccos, 2 x Eos (not 1 but 2!!!!) and a bunch of other cars.
The best thing about these dyno days is that you get every car run back to back on the same dyno so you get some real world comparative results. Absolute dyno values are so variable between dynos that they're not really worth the paper they're printed on.
The only worthwhile dyno data is when you run on the same dyno and the only thing you change is the car (or mods on it).
Otherwise 1/4 mile times are good as it's pretty hard to fudge them.Last edited by tigger73; 19-05-2014, 11:15 PM.
