Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Touareg V10 TDI - performance chip advise

    Hi All,
i have an 05 V10 touareg, great car, im very happy with it, currently returning 11.6 L / per 100k's on a mixed city / Highway daily drive. down to 9.6L / per 100K's on a Brisbane to gosford drive.

does anyone have experience with performance chips in this model /
what benefits / problems have they experienced and would they recommend a brand ?.
i have come across DP chip but dont know what they are like,
    do they void warranty.
thanks in advance, look forward to your experiences.

DP chip is the way to go, I've fitted one to V10 that the owner had supplied.
Prefect no dramas... that was 8 months ago.
It will take @ least 4 hours to fit, but worth it.
    Jaimo.

        jaimo,
forgot to ad, need 2 x DPChips for the V10, at $1350ea it works out pretty expensive so i want to know I will see some improvement over the already super performance and good economy ( 11.6ltrs / 100k's ) im getting.
        any feedback appreciated.

          Spoke with owner today,

Very impressed with chips, transformed the vehicle into an R50 with not much change to fuel consuption.

I think $2700 is very good value. The owner of the one I fitted is still raving about the power/economy & reliability. If you think the price is expensive why don't you ring around for a better deal?

I reckon if you can afford a V10 TDI Toe rag in the first place, then $2700 shouldn't be a problem..

i dont think i'd be chipping a V10 TDi, 750Nm is more than enough but i thought the same when i got my R. now i want to chip it to get a bit more from it
                but those V10s are amasing....

How's 259kw and 855Nm sound. 7,4secs 0-100km's/h...0,4 secs 0-100 faster than std and only 0,6l per 100km's up on fuel? we did one last week here in Syd. No problems
