  • Spark plugs!

    hey all,

I'm just about to replace my spark plugs, and I'm wondering if we have any recomendations from the audience on which brand etc etc.

I looked at some NKG ones today and they were about 12/14 bucks for a 4 pack, of the ones specific for my engine, although, I wondered could I put GTi spec spark plugs in my engine (1.6 carb) would them 'improve" performance or just not work etc, what's involved in choosing a spark plug?!?!

    and, Discuss.

Get NGK iridiums. Just ask for the 1.6 Mk1 plugs, same heat range, but in iridium.

They are a really good plug and really hard to foul/ burn the end off.

I use iridiums in pretty much everything.

We always ran them in the Kart engines too.

Get NGk if possible. Decent sparkplugs.
I run them in my MK1 and VR6. VR uses platinum plugs. Around $10-$15 a plug but last for 150,000kms.
