Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Cat back Golf R

    Hi Guys,

Has anyone fitted just a cat back to their Golf R? I fitted one today and it wasn't quite the difference I thought it would be. I fitted a non-res Milltek cat back.

    Thanks

These things go together with tuning and turbo upgrades no point just having exhaust parts changed unless your looking only for sound difference. Get it tuned!!!

Sorry I meant it wasn't the sound difference I thought it would be, I'm only really looking for sound as I don't want to tune yet.

Catbacks offer very little or no power increase at all. More power is only archived if you have a turbo back (FYI that is the cutback with a dump pipe/ down pipe) you will need a tune also after the tbe for optimum gain. Catback is just for sound. Correct me if I'm wrong.
