was toying with the idea of rewelding a set of 8v extractors with a 16v flange is this remotely doable or is the shape totally different???

Its possible, but you would have to have a few key things sorted first like: a single dew drop from a mating Japenese beatle, your mum would have to be french and your dad Rod Millan, also it would have to to have anything to do with a MK2.MK1 floG soon to have 16v 2L with cable change gbox - need a 16v turbo manifold
