Mk6 air breather

when I purchased an intake for my mk6 gti, I was told by the supplier I would need an air breather as well. But it seems Australian cars don't need it according to the installation manual. Just want to clarify, is this correct?

What type of airbox & what is your engine code?

It's awe tuning. I don't know what engine code. It's mk6 gti. That's all I know

OK - some US versions may run an air pump (I think CCT egine codes). If yours is a CCZ engine code it won't have the additional plumbing. I understand that is what the additional filter is for.
