Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Thanks Fella's - its in our TT rally car - there's a gallery here:

                    And some action pics here:

We have had it for 2 1/2 years, it was really cheap as it has done 260,000 km's.

We broke the rear tailshaft at last years QLD Dutton Rally on a launch & decided to give the motor a freshen up as it was leaking a little oil - with the new internals we can now push the tune upwards of 430 ~ 450hp (It was running 400hp on the stock internals with that mileage on them) - the intake manifold alone is apparently worth 35hp.

It run's Ohlins suspension, custom Camber plates (Custom lots of things!) - It was the test mule for the RHD stage 3+ kit which we export primarilly to the UK (and the crazy bastids put most of them on MKIV Golfs!).

there is some old buildup info here:

Here is a pic of it before we put the brakes on:

Just can't help thinking ... so much of this is interchangeable with the components of my car.

Would that intake fit on the Polo?

Anything could go on a Polo - Its just a matter of time, money & a big demolition saw

The exhaust manifold, Turbo (a 28RS instead of 2871R), dowpipe & cat, and intake pipe are all the same they use for the Polo & Golf. The plumbing takes a different turn for the intercooler.

The intake manifold is really only for "built" engines as it up's the HP past internal strength safety margin.
