"Sprintbooster" -- worth doing or a gimmicK?

I do not believe they are a gimmick. They seem to do exactly as advertised.
To be fair to sprintbooster it is mostly the users of their product who give it a bad name with claims like improved fuel economy, faster 0 to 100 times etc. I think as long as you realise the module is only doing what manufacturers often change deliberately between model change overs and between different trim specifications in order to achieve their desired "feel" to how the car's accelerator responds to input you will be fine. It cannot magically speed up the data transmission rate achievable between the accelerator pedal, the ECU and the throttle body and/or injectors...only adjusts the actual data being sent.Last edited by Tom87; 22-11-2012, 12:51 PM.

save the $ and spend it on a tune then decide

I've got one, it did what it promised, got rid of pedal lag. The increased pedal sensitivity along with the tuned supercharged engine makes for an impressive drive.

Do it. You won't regret it.

Yes, everyone who got the sprintbooster is happy with it, so don't go by what people who don't use it got to say about it.
The real users reviews and comments are more valuable than the negative comments of those (incl. me) that didn't try it.

Not true. Ive had one on my R32 and on my modded gti and I wouldn't even drive down the road, without it being on all the time. It makes the car feel more 'alive" and in touch with your foot.Volvo S60 RD T6

Same here, the way the car sounds and behaves with SprintBooster on it's highest setting is not reproduceable without the SB adapter & just pushing your foot down harder.

All it is doing is modifying your DBW pedal V throttle plate positions nothing more and by increasing the apparent throttle pedal position you may also reduce the DBW delay which is reduced/turned off at some point that I haven't bothered to work out exactly.
Maybe they work very very well on NA cars- true that I can't comment on (I'll add the twinchargers too) but I have driven a great number of the 2L TFSI's now with and without the things and really........ well I'd definitely spend the $ elsewhere. We do run a big chunk off boost down low which has the effect of minimising any benefit this device might make so maybe for the more mundane options out there perhaps its more noticeable
With the editting stuff I have in any ECU's file that we commonly see here I can modify pretty much all of the pedal V throttle plate maps if I really wanted to, that's apart from the DBW delay maps which I haven't worked out yet.

Since there is no tune for a Vr6, I'm going to give it a try.MY2013 VW CC V6 4Motion: Debadged, Eibach Pro Springs, Gloss Black 19' VMR708 Wheels, Window Tint, Tail Tint, Matt Gray Metallic Wrap, Gloss Black Wrap on Roof, Mirrors and Chrome, PlastiDip Grill & Badges

Ive recently driven a manual car with one of these any whilst im not a convert I do believe it improved the throttle delay significantly which then made heel & toeing the car much easier. Without the sprint booster you really need to tramp the accelerator pedal which is awkward.
