  • Electric low pressure fuel pumps

Looking for peoples experiences with low pressure fuel pumps. For carburetor applications. Specifically, multiple carburetors.

Im using a Carter low pressure/high volume pump rated at 3/4 psi. Im not really happy with it. I find it too loud and think it may be pumping too much, even though they dont recommend using a regulator with it. Have yet to measure the actual amount of flow the pump has.

What are you guys running, recommend or had great/terrible experiences with?

I've used Holleys, they had two versions for low pressure applications (Red & Blue for different pressures), they were noisey and mounted externally to the tank, but this can be reduced by mounting the pump in a way that it will reduce vibrations. I mounted mine to an old engine mount which reduced the noise a fair bit. AlthoughI should add this was 20 odd years ago and on a 70s Ford so I suppose the term noisey is relative to the vehicle/user/era. A regulator is recommended with these pumps.
