I am keen to start a thread to get feedback on tuning / mods and regular servicing for Golf (R and GTI) in Canberra. Keen to know who people are going to, best deals, good customer service, etc. Seems like CVWC gets good feedback (but they are an APR shop I think?). who else is out there?

You are correct that CVWC is an APR dealer. IMHO, probably the best for servicing if you have a performance orientated VAG car. Beetle exchange and A & R auto at Mitchell can service your car but just basic stuff, no performance mods. I've been going to CVWC since I got my Polo GTI and have nothing but praise for them06 VW 9N3 Polo GTI - Reflex Silver Leather/OEM Colour coded S/guard/OEM Lower Honeycombe Grille/NSP Boost Gauge/APR Stage 1+,Dogbone & DP/K&N filter/Forge s/shift,DV008 & Strut brace/PD 160/Samco camo TIP/Whitline RSB/FK AK's/17 x 8 Oettiger RE's/Alpine Head Unit & Sony Amp. Another strong vote for CVWC in Belconnen - they look after all our VWs and handle everything from a basic service on the work vehicles to the plethora of performance mods they've installed on my Polo GTI.
I'm not sure of the relationship between Belconnen & Tuggeranong - from memory I think they're related by name only, with Belconnen specialising in later model VAG and tuning products, whilst Tuggeranong deals more with early air cooled VWs. That said I've only ever dealt with the guys at Belconnen so I'm not really sure on the southside shop.

only complaint i have with CVWC Belconnen is the wait!! Being so good, they're such a busy mob that ur looking at weeks & weeks for a booking.
i went in one day to get my headlights realigned - i was told that the earliest they could do it was in 3.5 weeks!!
.....or my timing was bad for that time of the year.MY17 Superb 162TSI, Business Grey, Tech+Comfort Pack, APR ECU+TCU Stg 1, SLA, Rieger Splitter + Side Skirts, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, Hardrace Swaybar, TPMS

Another vote for CVWC. Belco does the APR tunes, I got mine done there, they were great.
Mick at Tuggeranong did the 15k service on my R this week (much closer to my place in Woden which happens to be directly across the road from Lennock...). He is a really good guy, he knows his stuff and nothing is too much trouble. I have no hesitation recommending him. He even said if I needed an oil top up before the next service to drop in and he'd sort it out. Top bloke.Current ride - Golf R 7.5 DAP, Sunroof, Dynaudio, DSG

$303.39 all up for the 15k, including $17.60 for the 4 wheel rotate, he didn't plan to rotate unless called for. Going with CVWC I know it wasn't the pimply apprentice touching up and then joyriding the R.
I called the 2 dealerships a few weeks ago to check prices, from memory Slaven was $380 and Lennock was quoting $500 on the phone.
I was a bit apprehensive about the APR tune with the DSG but it has made the car what it always should have been. It has much more pull from idle now and the power delivery is more linear, it used to be flat up to 2500rpm and then go psycho. It is an awesome drive now, it just wants to keep going faster. Just do it, you know you want to!Current ride - Golf R 7.5 DAP, Sunroof, Dynaudio, DSG
