  • Stage 2+ APR Power figures; 147kw Engine

    Hey guys,

I'm looking at doing a stage 2 APR on my audi A3 2.0T Quattro.

It is the same engine as the the golf gti mkv.

    I was struggling to find information about this online;

Upgrading just the fuel pump; what sort of power gains do you get?
Upgrading just the down pipe: what sort of power gains do you get?

Upgrading both : What sort of power gains do you get?

Sorry if this has been answered before; and thanks for your time.

I'm not really after numbers to be honest though; I'm after a more fun driving experience.
From What I have heard is with the downpipe your boost comes on about 500 rpm earlier! and greatly improves throttle response.

What sort of gains do you notice from the high pressure fuel pump?

I would say the downpipe would be better bang for your buck than the fuel pump.

Good news is the Golf R APR US downpipe is a confirmed fit for the S3 & A3 quattro - on sale too!

We generally see around ~ 9kw at the wheels & 15nm of torque from a downpipe (peak) - the fuel pump sees around 22kw & 35nm of torque - through the midrange.

On a K03 we recommend downpipe first, pump second, on a K04 car you can do the pump first if you wish.

Here is an indication of the torque curve increase from a fuel pump on a K04 Scirocco. Green line is stage 1, thin pink line is fuel pump on top.

I've already got a fuel pump going in next month. Need to get this downpipe and stage 2 tune will be a nice increase!!

            Hi Guy,

Wondering if u had any dyno stats on APR stage 2 vs stage 2+. I've currently got stage 2 on my scirocco R and I'm wondering If the HPFP is a worth while investment. (ie. $$ vs the performance gains). - the graph above is a stage 1 tune vs stage 1+. ??

Dont have exhaust numbers on our own dyno yet, we have a few booked in over the next couple of months, so we will be running them all & will let you know the results.

Traditionally a K04 car see ~ 9kw's at the wheels from an exhaust.

So you're saying that the only difference between the stage1+ graph above and a graph for stage2+ would be a 9kw gain?? No change in the curve shape at all?

I gained 25awkw from stg1 to stg2+. That was full exhaust hpfp and fmic.

You might gain more in the roc because of the fwd. Maybe....

                    Yeah thanks for the answers.
I was however interested in the gains from stage2 to stage 2+ (not stage 1) as I am already at stage2 with CAI and DP

I have heard that a HPFP and FMIC are worth about 10awkw (together) in the Golf R. Havent tested it myself thats just what i got told. Only dynoed mine at stg1 and stg2+.

Apparently the HPFP gives your more of gain below the graph (midrange).

Digging up an old thread. Does anyone know the numbers on a K03?

                        Is it very similar?

The HPFP doesn't magically add mid range power; it just supports a more aggressive boost profile in that region, so changing the HPFP alone with a Stage 1 or 2 tune doesn't increase performance.
