Ok thanks. Yeah I bought new plugs from VW spares hoping they were the new part number but they are the same as what came with the car from factory. Still put them in. I don't seem to have the misfire problem.

Very excited about it (as well as the torque limit control), so looking forward to a couple more Brisbane test cars before release.
Sounds fantastic. When in D half the problem is the time the car takes to think about which gear it should shift down to before getting all that APR goodness, sometimes I'm too lazy to put my left hand on the wheel to downshift myself (esp on stop/start freeway trips)
I trust you'll let us know when to give Dean a call.
Some say he was the Stig... all we know is that he drives a VW Transporter.

Not sure on the coilpacks, VW have been plagued by coilpack issues since 1998 (you would hope they would have sorted it by now), but it wouldn't surprise me if that is a contributing factor at all.
Yeah, with another major revision in September.

Yes, mk4 golf saw the first of the coil pack brilliance I believe...

Colder weather (cold air = more density = more boost) has bought this on in cars that have never seen it. Part of it is because of the DSG shift command (where the transmission goes to shift & reduces engine load) and there is a boost overshoot. We experienced this a few weeks ago on our own big turbo Polo in Goulburn at 4 degrees C where we have never seen it in QLD - we short shifted at the sprint event & didn't have the problem.
It appears this may be the probable cause here, although we haven't seen temperatures close to 4 degrees, but it has been low to mid teens during most of my drives. But in anycase, HP have been very helpful and accommodating as has Quattro motors over here. They are planning to apply the upgrade this week so all being well it will resolve the issue. I am thoroughly enjoying the tune, the smoother gear changes and more power available, so I'd hate to have it all come crumbling down.

Many thanks to James from HP for his help, it certainly is interesting to hear other stories of similar events!
