This is correct,
"9. the failure of any part which is caused by:a. any part which was not made or supplied by the manufacturer of your vehicle; or
b. any modification to your vehicle which altered its specification from the

don't get me wrong VW will understandably push hard to show that ANY fault related to the engine management system or engine itself is as a result of a tune or engine modification, but for issues with unrelated components i.e. suspension and well the DSG in this case etc. there shouldn't be any issue.
