  • Got my APR Stage 1 Flash yesterday!

So I finally bit the bullet and got the awesome people at Prestige Auto Works in Victoria to do the APR Stage 1 Flash for my Mk5 GTI. Got to say I absolutely love the upgrade, power delivery is much smoother and you can really feel yourself pulling back into your seat when the right pedal goes down now. I am absolutely overwhelmed with it!

Now to save more money and to start diving into Stage 2!

APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.

So $1495 less 15% for the sale is $1270.75

Relax Paul, the International Money markets need to rebound before that will happen. That's a while away still!

got what i think was stage one but i would have to say not so impressed with the tune.
but to be fair i did require stage 1+ which uses a fuel pump and version 3.1 tune for 190-200 ish kw.
i think i paid 1270 ish from memory.
waiting on a pump now then it will be flashed properly id say..

was on a golf R so would be different

                  Hi guys! First proper post

I've recently started the long process of researching what's involved in stage 1 (as an inexperienced modifier). So my golf R is stock at 188kw and we only get 190-200kw for stage 1? Is stage 1 really only for ppl that wish to continue to the next stage of actually replacing parts or for GTI's or to bring it back up to it's original overseas state?

                  Cheers and great forum!

                    188 at the flywheel

Tuners quote power at the wheel from a dyno

Your car at the wheel is closer to 135-150 kw

                    Drivetrain losses

Also, as you will find out, peak power is not that useful, it is power delivery and torque and tune safety that matters

So stage 1 will get you up to an additional 65kW... holy cr*p! Where do I sign!

                      Thanks Drivetrain!

                        Up to ...

Dynos vary as do stock cars as do tunes

Most seem to get between 30-50 kw with tune only

Not about peak numbers, any tuner that pushes that as the be all and end all is probably worth staying away from.

Driveability, safety (AFRs, timing, boost) and torque more important
