Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hey mate Bosch do a drop in 4 bar reg for your OEM fuel rail. Only about $50 or so and 10 min DIY. I'm running one with no probs.

With the 4 bar reg you will only see real benefit if you are going to run a bigger pump and injectors, some say better atomisation with the fuel rail having 1 bar more pressure. My opinion is the injectors will only spray the amount designed and for however long the ECU decides they must. Id be keen to hear more as ill be looking into similar mods with my 6N2 harpoon.

      Cheers

Sorry forgot that part, it's the same one for the MK4 Golf GTI

          Volkswagen Golf IV 1.8T > Engine > Fuel > ES#1073 Bosch OEM 4.0 Bar Fuel Pressure Regulator - 0280160575SJ

And I know youv'e mentioned you're doing some major upgrades soon. Just wondering what you have in mind You really won't need the reg unless you're adding more air flow and boost to the equation.

Thank you... am looking a tryng to get as much power out of the litte polo as possible whist still being a road car I love these little Polos, as I a sure you do. I have had polo's, since the first was released over a decade ago. So what I am doing is, remaping ECU (APR), sorting out intake (BC/carbonio), 3" down pipe ...debating about the exhaust, as I dont want to much noise, and the polo exhaust is not bad. New larger intercooler , FK highsport coilovers .......
            and finally:
            1. Puting in a "beter" turbo ---T4 (have not done this yet) , and ths is why I am sowly buying parts for the car to get it T4 ready (FPR,
            3" MAF etc..).
            2. Putting in bigger calipers and disks

Also keep on making the polo more pretty, beter mags, badges etc.....

If you are stuck the Passat BBG V6 runs a 4.0 bar reg standard if you are looking for one. Plenty V6 engines in the Euor wreckers these days
