Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Yep
But free up the exhaust and intake first.Put a K&N down the rh font in the cold air stream.
    Then go the chip.

on it's own there wont be much change except for the engine being a bit more responsive (read crisp) in the low to mid range.
with the rigth exhaust size and a better set of plugs (and leads) you'll find a nice increase but don't expect 40+ HP though

Whats wrong with factory plugs and leads ? Just be sure to get the red/orange leads over the black ones since they are a supercession .
I leave plugs alone until the car is modified , then I put in one range cooler .

                Giac chips are $650 .

Sammy had his car chipped (Giac) , lightened with custom cold air intake and a set of semi slicks and ran a 14.4

I have a 2.5" exhaust, high flow cat, a carbon dyanimc airbox and a 3" cold air induction. Im looking for a chip to get the most out of these mods, and would i be right to fit better/differant plugs? I've just fitted new leads. Could/ would someone recomend a chip? or would i be better to fit a good computer.
I figure a computer might be the way to go if i change the cams.

                    Talk to Seb. (Bug Racer)

Mine is done. (Giac) Is good.

Feels better at lower revs and limit raised to ????? I can run mine off the dial. (7000+) Much better at top end.
