Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • bluefin question

    Gday everyone,

I have been given the option from my mate who has a bluefin on his Focus in the UK at the moment.
He will be back in Aus in January and i was wondering if i bought his bluefin off him, would someone in AUS be able to reload the software so it will suit my 07 GTI FSI ????

I know this is unusual - but thought it may be worth investigating.
Im leaning towards bluefin at the end of the day anyway.

i'm pretty sure you would need to get the Bluefin reset in the UK.

If you send Bluefin an email, they are pretty prompt in replying.

You can get any Bluefin re-coded for another car, normally about 40% less than the normal price and assuming that the unit has had the Bluefin remap removed from the Focus and thus is back on the unit. If you want to do this, let me know and I'll get an accurate price for you. Then you can send me the unit, we'll get it recoded to whatever car you want and off you go.
