Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • BAM injector upgrade - questions.

Hey guys, my friend in the UK is parting out his Cupra R and has offered me his injectors from the 1.8T BAM engine which will fit my BJX engine out of my 9N3 Polo GTI.

So my questions are - at what point in the tuning process would upgrading to these injectors make any difference to performance and what kind of gains are you likely to get? Would I have to change anything else to get these performance benefits out of the engine? Or could I just do a straight swap and notice a difference.

I'm thinking for when I get around to a stage 2 map, where I'd be considering turbo upgrades and other big mods. And considering he'd give it me for next to nothing, it got me thinking!

    Cheers!

You need bigger injectors for some tunes if you go to a K04. APR use a BAR FPR to get extra fuelling. Custom-Code prefer to go with 8L S3 spec hardware, injectors, Fuel pump, MAF.
