Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Dyno recommendation in Perth?

    Hi guys,

Not sure if this would be the appropriate place.
Can anyone recommend any dyno places in Perth and how much they cost roughly??
You can pm me if you're not comfortable revealing the information here.
I'm curious to see the output of my Jetta after the APR stage1 upgrade.
I expect there should be at least a hint of something in the output that one could see to tell the difference between stock and the 98 program.

    cheers.
p.s. did a search but some of that info is from 2 yrs ago.

Thanks! will give them a call. Hoping there's no big difference between the knowledge/expertise required for wrx's and jetta's.

Let us know how you go - there have been a few attempts at setting up a Perth dyno day event but we've always had trouble finding somewhere that caters for the AWD eg R32.

I rem going to somewhere in O'Connor once too, XSpeed I think, and when they got my car up on there, they couldn't tie it down and refused to run it (edit; I think they were set up for RWD for FWD, mine is not AWD-separate to comment above)

Would be good to get a day going for this when it's not the middle of summer too!

really if your just after a before and after run it doesnt matter where you go.
I use allstar garage in Malaga, but beware it takes some time to get it setup on the dyno as its a hub dyno, my Bora did about what I expected so its pretty accurate IMHO.

Not so good for Geoff though, as doesnt suit fast turnaround times for a dyno day.
Most 4wd dyno's will spaz out with haldex, better to pull the fuse and run that way for the R32's

I just got a Mk6 GTI so would be keen to see what it puts out atw in stock form.
Would love to be kept in the mix if a dyno day is sorted.
