The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • GTI Milltek Exhaust in WA

Hey Guys... I have been looking into exhausts while I wait for my GTI, and have pretty much set my mind on a Milltek system when I get my tax money.
Only problem is I don't know if I want resonated or non-resonated. I have heard most/all of the clips on youtube and the non-resonated sounds fine, but just hoping it won't have the annoying drone.
I want something louder and nicer than stock, but not boyracer-ish or too intrusive.

Is there anyone in Perth with a Mk6 GTI that has a Milltek exhaust setup that is willing to let me have a listen in and out of the car?
I will obviously come to you.

    Thanks!

PS will the tailpipe style have much affect on the sound? 90mm v 100mm v GT100mm ??

I contacted Golfwagen numerous times (phone & email) to no avail & then went direct to Milltek who recommneded CPC.

I'm personally going to go for resonated ... If / when I can convince the boss its a necessity

I've moved this to the Tuning forum.
If you're worried about drone, then get the resonated version, as the technical term for "drone" is resonance.

As for the question I quoted, it will have an effect on sound and more than likely the performance characterists of the engine. Check with CPC etc to ask their advice on the subject. But the size and design of your exhaust effects the torque vs power delivery of your engine. Too large without having other supporting mods can actually reduce your performance etc.

Golfwagen in Wangara are the Perth Milltek distributor.
I have a full turbo back resonated Milltek exhaust system on another brand of car (2.0l T) and it is very nice.
