Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Up and Runnig finnally.. New Custom engine build 2.2L GT35R

After over 12 months, its finnally in the car and running.

Low down on what was done and involed.

VW ADY 2.0L Tall Deck engine block.
    Audi/VW AEB engine head
    Audisport Mechanical Cams.
    Solid Lifters
    Larger Valves
    Stiffer springs and stronger retainers
Custom Eurospeed designed Pistons and rings
Custom Length Conrods with ARP L19 Bolts
    4340 100mm stroker crank
    Honda Timing Belt
    Eurospeed Idle roller relocation bracket

Many more bits and pieces probably too long to list.

Well its all in the car and running and now driving it around daily.

It has taken a long time to complete with many modifications for the head to mate up to the block.

I probably wont do this combo for anyone as too many manual hours involved.

some of the many hours involved
is sorting out clearance of conrod to oil pump gear drive
head to block oil drain back holes
    timing belt length
conrod to bottom of bore clearance
    conrod to block sidewall clearance
