Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Cold air intake 4mo bora

    Hey,

I was wondering what gains and advantages a cold air intake will provide for a 4mo bora? Is it worth the price?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a cold air intake for the vr6 bora? I was thinking of the ecs one as I have to buy some sensors from there anyway.

    Cheers

Mine's just got a length of scat tube from the OEM airbox down to the lower grill which has had it's slots opened up.

    There's a K&N filter in the box.

That's the way it came to me, seems like a cheap solution.

Not sure if it's better than stock.

I have an EVOMS unit, similiar to the ECS unit, except the pipe is one piece, no joins mid stream. It has a conical type filter located in the bumper, ahead of the wheel lining. Having driven through some interesting;y wet roads I can say I am more than confident the thing is in a water restricted zone, therefore no risk of ingested water.

Performance wise, slight gains but the noise is nice
