  • 118 octavia Awesome results with Superchips and Bluefin

Just tuned a Skoda Octavia, this has grand results and you can do these by Blufin no worries. Gains are 47BHP and 98 NM of Torque!!! whopping. great car to start with and tune is inreal, i would have a wagon in a flash.
Wolf in sheep clothing for sure.
Owner bought the tune to save fuel, but is very impressed with the power, really wakened it up.
Im stinging to do a VRS

So he spent ~$1000 on a product that gives more power to the engine by increasing boost and adding more fuel in order to save fuel?

Even if they magically picked up a .5l fuel saving over the next 100,000kms that would be 500 litres saved @ $1.50 a litre which is $750.00.

Does it add more fuel in, or just up the boost & put the timing forward? Maybe even lean it out a bit?

When I got my XR6 turbo flash edited, it went from 200rwkw and 14.5l/100km to 230rwkw and 13.5l/100km on my same day-to-day trip...

That was at 15,000kms, and now at 107,000km its still running strong

That is what I told my wife! But have to admit its pretty good on fuel, trip to Bendigo friday avg 7.4 on the way up fully loaded and was running late so wasn't taking it easy and 6.8 on the way home set speed limits (tomtom speed) It has the torque to stay in 6th even up the steep hills. But that price sounds overpriced when you can buy it fron JKm for about $600au.

Less than $1000 for starters. Have a read at the sites of most tuners and read the facts. They do run more efficiently. All i can say is trust you to put a negative on anything said on here. No suprises for anyone there.

Honestly, i don't think Traders, Car dealers etc should be allowed on the forum at all as they are all just out to make a buck..

There are meant to be Specialist/Trade Forum area.

We went to Port Fairy during the holidays. Four people (two teenagers) plus luggage around 800km in total and averaged 5.4l/100 km over the whole trip which is not bad considering my L plate daughter drove quite a bit of it without the cruise control and she often forgets to change up to 6th on the open road. The consumption was calculated fill to fill not off the MFD.

Those power gains - that's the Bluefin claims rather than before/after dyno figures? I did mine about 20,000km back and I'd venture it was more like 25kw & 60Nm seat of pants reading (but still great bang for buck). I did some in gear timing on mine & it is now quicker than a Porsche Boxster (not sure if that's good or not though)

He won't get better fuel economy - mine went backwards slightly (0.3L/100) but the extra torque makes it worth it. Also it has to be 98ron all the time or you'll get audible detonation.

Why didn't the customer do his own install?

We all know the fuel saving thing is how we justify these purchases to our spouse.

$750 in fuel saving (it won't happen) would more than pay for the Bluefin device. Mine was AUD660 & I claimed it back through my lease, so effectively AUD462. But as I said earlier, it uses a touch more fuel, therefore no savings (except in Viagra as the torque really makes you crack a fat)

I don't think the remap adds extra boost, it maintains boost. I think that flat torque curve is generated by bleeding boost from 1900rpm onwards. This helps deliver exceptional motorway economy.

V8s still have their place IMO. It's just different ways of making power.

Easy, there is no substitute for power. Let alone power at such economy..
