    I cannot guarantee warranty related information - it's been abit of a hot topic, and you'll find that the general consensus is that most dealers are ok with modifications and do not "automatically" void your warranty.

    The truth is that most warranty claims are not tune related; just straight off the top of my head I can think of a few that frequently happen regardless if your ECU is stock or not:

    * Faulty sensors (ie. MAF, MAP, IAT, coolant temp, camshaft, crank, etc.)
    * Cracked breather hoses
    * Leaking DV
    * Faulty variable intake manifold runner motor/flap
    * Faulty coilpack
    + the list goes on.

    I have had customers before who have had one of the above problems go wrong before during warranty and still have had things rectified without warranty voided. I am sure however, that if one of the following occurred:

    * Damaged engine internals
    * Blown turbocharger
    * Failed catalytic converter
    * Blown transmission

    Then they may investigate further. If they found that your ECU was non-standard then I would think they would not honour this type of warranty claim. Again, it would be good to get some input from dealers on here themselves; it's odd because some support tuning and are happy to chat about it, but a few select others may not be.

    At the end of the day, it is your responsibility whether or not you wish to get your ECU tuned; I personally do not offer warranty on your car if you get it DNA tuned, not because I think the tune could cause damage, but because most warranty claims are on items unrelated to the tune. In fact, if you read the fineprint of other tuners who claim to cover your warranty when something goes wrong, you'll find that they protect themselves one way or another. For instance, they (not naming companies here) will not replace your coilpack, turbo, or even DV because they are considered "wear" items.

    As such, as a business owner who aims to be as transparent and honest as possible; it is much better for me to not make the offer of taking over the warranty; if that means the customer chooses another tuner then so be it - I'd rather not offer any deceptive claims of such services.

      Absolutely phenomenal results; I encourage all those with a 77 TSI keen to unlock the extra power to contact me regarding a 77 TSI Stage 1 upgrade.

      As evident, there are significant ignition timing advances at low to mid load ranges to improve fuel economy as well as up top to increase top end power. This is despite an already 20% increase to turbocharger boost and modified fuelling for lean and efficient fuel consumption at low rpm, and holding an AFR of 12 under WOT from mid range to redline.

        I'm just wondering, is this a general tune, kinda one-size-fits-all or is similar to others like APR and revo technik who have multiple maps for different conditions.... Because for the current price you have for members,it's mighty tempting!

          We've never sold generic tunes; all tunes are specific for each car - this is the only way to achieve the numbers we claim and to ensure things that shouldn't be overwritten/changed in our customers cars are left unchanged. Each and every car is upgraded via a full data read; with specific data tables upgraded to control boost, fuelling, ignition timing, valve timing (where applicable), throttle calibration, and other fixed parameters.

          As for multiple maps for different conditions - if you mean environmental/climate/ambient conditions then no, our tunes are designed to factor in a wide range of temperatures, elevations, humidity, etc. to ensure under all conditions the car will perform flawlessly. If you mean multiple maps to support a range of modifications - then yes we do provide staged upgrades as well, just like our competition.

          Hope that helps to answer your questions. As for pricing; as I have very few overheads, it is possible to keep pricing competitive, and provide personal 1:1 customer service to ensure complete customer satisfaction. We are also capable of fine tuning/custom tuning where required or applicable; for instance, we can write out features such as EGT sensors, diesel particular filter sensors, post-cat O2 sensor sensitivity, etc.

            Thanks for th really comprehensive reply John, really appreciate it

            I'm just tossing up if I go down the path of the ecu or not straight up with the gti and am trying to find out as much info as I can before I actually commit to doing anything.

              Hey guys

              Wanted to leave some feed back on the DNA tune that I received from john on my 2010 polo 77tsi.

              So I got the new program put in by John on Thursday(10th) and have had it for a few days driving now. Like all of you I was a little hesitant at first but after meeting John and having a chat I was happy to proceed to see what sort of output we were able to get. The biggest impression it has left on me is just how smooth the car is running, which is quite surprising for a brand new car. I found that before the reflash it was jerky in first gear especially and even between the gear changes but the upgrade has somehow eliviated this issue.

              The engine is happy to keep revving until you want it to now and power delivery is quite noticeable. You can literally hear the spooling up of the turbo which you couldn't before. Love this!!!! It has made the car alot easier to drive in alot of ways and hasn't lost that daily driveability which was important to me.

              The Numbers provided by John I suppose are proof of the increase but in the car while driving there is deifinately a massive change in the way the engine is performing. We are yet to put the car on a Dyno to get some accurate figures on this and will keep everyone updated as to what the results are.

              Until then I cannot recommend John highly enough for the way he handled all the million questions I had for him as well as the ease of the entire process.

              Happy to answer any questions anyone might have as well....

              Cheers Guys

                Cool, thanks for that Vinny. I know a few of us awaiting impatiently for our GTIs are looking at different tunes and if indeed the APR tune is similar, I personally won't be able to justify the $500 premium for the ability to push a button to change maps etc.....

                  Vin, thankyou very much for the kind words - it means alot and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the car! It's amazing how the first thing I noticed was that the car idled better - at first I thought I was imagining it, but when we both agreed on it I knew it wasn't just placebo effect! The 77 TSI is a nice little package already; really all it needed was some more poke to turn it into something truly great.

                  gavs; you can feel free to trial our software for 14 days - payment is required upfront but as with every customer I offer a full 14 day money-back satisfaction guarantee. Not to discredit APR's product of course, but I too never found the need to switch to stock when I first bought my S4 with an APR chip; I mean, the right foot is there to control the power anyway.

                    • Hi 77

                      It has been 6 days week now since I have got the upgrade and no issues at all with the fuel economy. Have been driving it the usual amount that I do which is around 16km one way to work and the usual running around. Obviously testing out the new found power so giving it a squirt here and there.

                      Only used about about a 1/4 tank for this time which is the same if not less than what I normally use. I am planning to fill up and measure it more accuartely and will put up the results when I do this.

                      I loved my car before this but gee it's fun to drive aorund now.

                      Cheers

                      • Another blatent thread hyjack here John, is the polo upgrade the same as listed at 299 pounds for the 180bhp GTI under the polo, which is a 31hp and 85Nm upgrade?? 85Nm, that's huge!!!!

                        I also noticed you said that it's not SRS2 compatible, yet the DNA Tuning site says that it is.... Don't get the wrong impression though, I'm not trying to be critical, I'm just wondering because i'm around the 80% mark of being swayed-over

                        • Sorry gav that is a typo - I have confirmed that with DNA Tuning. An Australian website is in the works with localised information and pricing as their UK site is very average as many have noted.

                          As per my other thread in the sponsor section requesting test cars for our SRS-II unit; the new range of the 1.4TSI's are now supported in the latest SRS-II firmware - but not the 77 TSI as that is a different ECU altogether. I carry many of these in stock and would be keen to check compatibility with the GTI's we get here so yes please shoot me an email if you'd like to be involved (and receive a bonus special offer).

                          If you don't require switching; then yes our standard remap is available over OBD port using our other equipment suites.

                          Our Stage 1 file brings the engine up to 155kW/300Nm on 98RON. We limit the mid range torque to 300Nm to maintain the super smooth power delivery of the 1.4TSI powerplant as pushing it higher offers minimal performance gains and at the cost of added stress to powertrain components.
