    Golf 1.4l 118TSI recall to update the software for the engine control unit

    Dose any one know what the proplem was with the softwhare and what this new program will do to the performance of the car.
    they say in the letter that they are updtaing the software because of complaints in certain driving situations.

    I was going to have my car chiped for better performance but if its going to be a problem I dont want to waste the money.

    any one know any thing about this?

    No problem with performance chipping at all. Get your VW upgrade done first, saves having to do the performance version twice!

        That sucks VW is having a software problem to their Control Unit, I wonder how German technology would place this problem and give it a quick fix.
