CarChip -- anyone using?

and am wondering if anyone has had any experience (a) running these in Australia on any VAG car and (b) specifically on a Polo GTI?

I am well aware of VAG-COM, and quite like certain aspects of that product, but its price and the need to have a laptop connected can also be very limiting, whereas a datalogging device such as the CarChip may be cheaper and should allow logging while on a track.

Anyone?

I reckon both products have their merits. Certainly if you don't need to look at the data straight away the carchip would be ok. You still need a computer to access the download though.
