yeah totally never thought of the test driver issue! sounds funny but i recon that is bound to happen. So when you took your Mk5 for servicing they didnt hassle you at all about the remap? im not sure if stock mode will switch the light on but ill just check with my local APR man. He said only a few mk6 gti's get the indication after installing the pipe on the upgraded software, so i recon it will come on and send the mechanics at VW into a panic

It's easy enough to test for yourself.... just switch it back to stock one day this week on your way to work or something...
My MKV had the Oettinger body kit and type RE wheels with the APR Quad exhaust and was very well presented. The Oettinger bodykit was more akin to what the BMW M3 is to the 3 series, than the skyline/wrx/lancer kits that come to mind when someone says "bodykit", so whilst it was still a "sleeper" to the cops and average public, to anyone that was familiar with Golfs, it was a damn magnet! So there was no point even attempting to disguise the work which had been done. I only had a single service done (the 15k) but the service dept were more of the "wow, that looks awesomel" than a "ooh, you're going to have warranty issues".

You can have the APR Stage 1 ECU flashed onto your own car for a "trial period" (several hours) so you can test it yourself (for free). Since you're in QLD, the local APR dealer is actually the main distributor - Harding Performance.
If you don't have the money to get it done, I'd advise you not to test it though... I can't see how anyone could possibly try it out and not want it! lol

I didn't continue with the upgrade due to the wastegate rattle noise coming on much sooner in the rev range. Perhaps the Carbonio intake would disguise the noise further. Pity that can't be trialled. Speaking of which, is the Carbonio intake sold in the US the same as the one sold in Australia? If so, there looks to be a $200 saving to be had, even after including shipping.GTI MKVI Candy White | 5 door | DSG | ACC | 18" Detroits | Leather | Electric Seat | Sunroof | RNS510 | Dynaudio | Park Assist | RVC | MDI

Can I just pay $1600, have the Stage II downpipe installed and get the free Stage II ECU upgrade therefore saving myself from paying $1700 for the Stage I ECU upgrade? Or am I just downright silly?[Current] Audi A4 B8 MY2013 2.0T Quattro - Lava Grey, Black Edition, S-Line, 19" TT-RS Wheels
