hey jmac, do you do the tuning here in australia?

can superchips do custom tunes for uprated turbos e.g. the pd130 turbo or the pd150 out of the gt tdi?

Its pretty good... not amazing like flashing a GTI... but still impressive.

traction in 2nd can be a problem.

Just successfully CMD tuned a late 09 build Tiguan 103KW. CMD is a process you are going to hear more about, most of the late 09 on are going this way.

I think you mean BDM (Background Debug Mode), CMD is just a brand name. I have a nice new Trasdata and a spare 555pro BDM setup.
BDM obviously sounds sort of kinky too, We can have a national BDM network

Ive got the Superchips BDM kit, but the CMD kit is different mate, only our main guy has that, the kit and obd hardware is different from the CMD kit. CMD flashing is similar to the BDM style , done on the jig, flash block dropped onto the board etc but we cant use the BDM to flash post Sept 09 ECUs, we can only do it with the CDM.
These new ECUs need to have the power and boot enabled by soldering 2 wires onto the board, then the rest gets done smilar to BDM style. So i do do agree its BDM as that is essentially what we are doing, but we need the extra CMD gear to do the new stuff. bring back serial!!!!!! Suppose one good thing is we dont need to worry about any system in the car interfering whilst the flash is getting done.

Trust me its the same thing. The process itself is called BDM. They have had to modify alot recently to cater for the new anti-tuning ECU's. That CMD setup would be the same as our Trasdata setup with frame and everything . The 555pro is great but its no longer capable of handling the newer stuff. I'm doing some Volvo Semis with it next week.
I also have the serial boot mode option for the same Anti-Tuning ECU's using the 'new genius' which is the same thing but not using the direct processor connection its use my serial programmer and yes you need a wire or two to enable boost mode. This is really going to hurt some places in the future just due to the extra stuffing around required. I think thats their plan.
              All good

EDIT: Actually I see that they have the CMDflash as well which uses some of the same stuff as their BDM so yeah maybe thats it. It Looks like they have the same options as my guys basically

i think in a my usual round about way i was agreeing there hahaha. I did use all of my BDM gear, jig etc but we had to acquire some more hardware for the encrypted stuff, and you are right its going to hurt many. I didnt find it too bad but it certainly is a lot of stuffing around and feels like we have went back the way having to open the ecu up again. You are right it is their plan but when it concerns software we will get round it ftw. The CDM flash is the equipment we use for the new ecus mate, i just hit the link and thats it. Ah we are on the same page. Wait till we have to do double bank ecus!!!! thats going to be a long winded process
                All good.

                      Hi
Just doing some research on Superchips and getting some conflicting info on whether I can or can't use the Bluefin device on my Golf VI 2.0 TDI - hope to sort it out soon. Any other recomendations or going from 103kw to 125kw or similar? The Bluefin option sounds great as I can "unchip it" when sending it in for service etc.
                      Cheers

Hey there Pricey, our rep will be coming your way very soon, we can do a read of your ecu and tell you straight away if you can Bluefin it or if you need the special ecu flash
Let me know if you are keen

I agree with the reply from Greg Roles above, the GT 125Kw has additional mods to turbo and fuel system and consequently have a different tuning profile. I have the Viezu (formally Chipped UK) ST3 with a Pipercross air filter and exhaust upgrade, it is excellent. I can change it back to VW standard anytime (like when it goes in for service etc.. (it plugs into the OBD port and re-programs the ECU) not just a gadget that plugs into the temp sensor to fool the system that cold air is available as some do.....

There is quite a few to choose from, read the forums well and good luck

Just my new VW Tiguan 103tdi and was wondering if anyone could tell me of any experiences they have had with tdi chip upgrades.

I have seen a few places offer a 103 to 125 kw chip and a 125 to 149 kw chip
Are these for the same motor?
What other mods do i need to enhance the upgraded chip? ie exhaust, air filter.....etc

                            Thanks Ash
