CO meter

I am wondering if a CO meter is;

cheap enough for an enthusiast to justify buying,
easy enough to learn how to use,
or, best avoided and let professionals fiddle with that stuff.

I like to work on my cars but with digifant it requires the CO measurement so would consider buying one.

Where do you get them and approximately how much for an entry level one?

CO testing is part of the MOT tests in the UK.

Home tuners have to have access to CO meters to tune with to be sure they're going to pass the MOT.

There's a good market there for them and that's one place you can find amateur grade CO meters reasonably priced.

That's the type I have for tuning K-Jet, it's a bit fiddly but quite usable.

I have a snap-on one that I bought off ebay. Not beautiful to look at but works fine.

The Gunsons one would be more than adequate for tuning up a kjet.

I'd say defiantly buy one if you can afford it. that and a good strobe light takes alot of the guess work out of tuning old cars!

if not taking it somewhere and getting it tuned is another option. Although, depending on the tuners compitance, it could end up costing just as much as buy a gas tester and DIY'ing it!
