golfs have trouble in general putting power down, its a front wheel drive they need lsd`s and upgraded suspension set up to get traction! in my opinion lsd should come with gti standard some of the renaults come with them already!

MKIV GTI, having driven it before and after the LSD + GT28RS it grips so much better, the car itself is completely different in terms of drive line and how it accelerates. The LSD is pretty much necessary imo...

And besides, you really can't push much more than 150-160kwatw with a KO4, but close to 300kwatw with a GT28.

Most people just stick with a K04 since they are either unwilling to do the extra LSD, Brakes, Clutches, mounts etc needed for bigger power or they simply cannot afford it. Not that a KO4 rebuild is cheap close to around 5-6k inc. manifolds, turbo, injectors and a tune.

Add 2-3k for programming and a standalone and a few other extras and you can be making an extra 50-70kw atwm with a GT28 with stock internals.

Up to you really, but having driven a car like that I know which I'd rather pick !

160 to 300 k04 to gt28 is pretty crazy are you sure thats right? I didnt think they were that much bigger.. 190 to 200 from a k04 seems to be the number in a mkv but 300 from a gt28 in a mkiv? wow.

As far as lsd's I'm already craving one too.. The mps guys are killing us in the 60ft department

well im running 210kw atw with the 28 on 16 psi the cars not even tunned proper yet turbo kicks in at 2800 rpm so all you hear about ko4 ko3s spooling quicker is bull, , 300 hp is pretty common on 28 1.8t`s id imagine more on a fsi, internals can handle it too (except the clutch and fly ), but i wouldnt go past 300 without internals and rebuilt head ill be doing a rebuild soon ill post it up as i go.
