  • AWE Exhaust options

    Hey guys,

Haven't seen a thread out there about this so I thought I'd get the ball rolling...

Very heavily eyeing the AWE exhaust (turbo-back once I can afford it) and just wondering if anyone out there has had one installed and what their opinion is like.

I love the exhaust note that this exhaust makes and considering I'm looking to go down the GIAC tuning path, means I can get both done at the same place... =]

Also for those interested in what exhaust I'm talking about... check out the vid below, would love to hear your opinion about this as well!

    Hi Robby,

there are 3 cars here in Melbourne that have the AWE turbo-back system, and they sound really tough!!

One of the cars is getting an engine rebuild this weekend, with the motor being pulled out of the car from this thursday night. you are welcome to pop down to have a look and a chat if you wish!

    pm me if you're interested!

Thanks mate, I'll be heading over on Friday night n checking it out...

Found a couple of vids on the Tube that are in car with an AWE exhaust, albeit in an Audi.

Also, something else I was wondering, which BY you might be able to answer, is it stupid to just get the cat back for the exhaust note??? =P I'm guessing it won't really do much performance wise, but then again, I've heard that the AWE DP does add exhaust note noise in the cabin.

catback alone wont yield a huge gain in performance. the restrictive part in the OEM exhaust is the DP and changing this would be a good step in chasing more power.

order of mods, in my opinion, should be:

        1. Ecu tune
        2. Intake
        3. DP + catback (if you can afford to hit it in one go)
        4. catback (if you cant afford full turbo back in one go)
        5. fuel pump

Even with steps 1 and 2, you will notice significant gains in your car.

i will be getting a catback for noise hehehehe as i cant do much to my car to get power without spending big bucks!!!
