How big a job? I actually bought the cam for the current engine until I get the heron in but was thinking I could use it. What headwork did you say the engine had? I got the go ahead from the 'finance minister' btw, come on Mr Rudd, give me my $900.

The head was overhauled approx 3-4000 kms ago.
The car ran like a clock, started first pop everytime and revved like anything.
In a standard Golf which is lighter it would be even better!

It should be a bit of fun, can't wait! Wanted the 16v but I think I would never have used it to its full advantage, the Heron will have just enough go go for me. Maybe Ill mod it a bit, we will see. What makes it hard with changing the cam Andrew? What exactly does Shim adjustment mean? Ahhh noobishness

Yeah, should be the one... diesel one is the same.

Pic of a later style tank...

and line drawing of the early one..
            Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

Hey all, with heron motors, is it just a heron head on a standard 1600 block?

                I should know this
