95 golf auto trans

Posted this a coupe of days ago [ im new at this ] dont know were its gone so here we go again ,Recently aquired 95 golf cl auto, slipping in 3 and 4 replaced 2 faulty shift solenoids, oil and filter, still have the prob seems clutches are shot anyone out there put me onto a service or overhaul manuel or some guidence ,i have downloaded some exploded diagrams from the internet but theres not a lot of how too ,my cars a 1.8 litre with a CKX trans i can get a DKR out of a 2 litre for a reasionable price but am told they are different anyone know how, is it [ drive shafts ,ecu ratios ] seems that autos are almost a holy grail, the parts iv been quoted are quite reasonable ,overhaul price quite exorbitent represents about a weeks labour something dousnt add up any input appreciated pugs

Thanks heaps for your reply its slipping in 3 and4 had two solenoids open circuit replaced no difference ,no bits of metal in sump but oil burnt and thick ,i have it half way out but the weathers holding me up ,im onto a couple of 2 nd hand ones so i figure i cant loose much taking it apart and having a look the local auto place put a electronic box on it and said there were no codes showing but it seemed they wanted a blank cheque, seemed a bit sus so i dont trust them, should have it out and apart this weekend keep you posted pugs

Get the line pressure tested . I think maybe the clutch packs are worn out

Had to get creative to get the end nut off , but once in there i found the 3 &4 clutch pack completely shot so have ordered new parts and will install when they arrive thanks for your reply keep you posted pugs
