This may sound alittle stupid, but could you please elaborate what you mean by electronic throttle controller.
It already has an electronic throttle & has cruise control too.
Or do you mean a boost controller eg Eboost? If so, I'd stay well away from one of those on these car's unless it's tuned to match the boost requirement's, bu tthen, I'd just look into a APR or GIAC tune straight up.
If you just increase boost without adjusting anything else, it will probably end up like my cousin's stock evo engine. Melted piston crown!
The only time I would use one of them is if I also had total control of adjusting the engine tune too. Eg. MoTec, Autronic, Microtech etc.Last edited by Oneofthegreats; 02-02-2009, 03:13 PM.

I think he means the drive-by-wire throttle upgrade unit. I only know of one made in the UK, which is said to increase the throttle response by about 30% etc. I would buy one for the Bora, but it's too Bora-ing and slow so not worth it anyway.
They're said to be a good thing and would help with heel-toeing etc, which hardly works well with 240mm flywheels and dead throttle response...

This is wot I meant. http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/tu.../photo_09.html
But I knew that there is something similar for golf gti mk5, its an external device that links to the throttle body and ecu. It also has a adjustable knob to fine tune the sensitivity of the throttle reponse.
