Any mods for mkiv golf gl?

Hi guys, i own a 99 golf gl (1.6l) for awhile now,
just wandering if there are any mods (around 500 bucks?) to boost up my golfs performance and where i can get them. I live in Melbourne. Thanks!

As a previous 1.6 owner I will pass onsome great advice I got from my trials.

Don't try to make it go faster, just make it handle better.

The few things I did made a massive difference;

Removal of the intake pipe on the lower side of the airbox and put in a panel filter kn or similar, or put in a pod - this frees up the car on acceleration.

Rear sway bar, under 200 gets much better turn in.

Minimum of 16 inch alloys.

The when you have some more money look at joni adjustale springs/eibach pro spring combination to lower and stiffen the ride. You could choose cpilovets instead.
