I recently installed a single Dellorto DHLA40 on Lynx manifold onto my 8V 1800 RV engine in a MK1 Golf, this engine was an upgrade from the original 1600 a year ago.
I used the original parts back on this engine with original Solex carb until the carb gave up the ghost. I am writing to ask if anyone thinks i may need an upgraded fuel pump, i assume the fuel pump is on the front of the engine and is a mechanical type?
I am using a simple adjustable Fuel Pressure Reg with the new carb as Dellortos are not rated to more than 2.5-3PSI of fuel pressure i have been told. Will this work with the original pump setup and return line etc if i mount FPR on carb side of the fuel line Y joint?
