  • VAG COM Setup

    Hey All,

    I'm just curious as to who here is running VAG COM software, cables or other handheld devices for scanning VW ODBII modules.

    Obviously there are several different ways to go about running diagnostic software:

    * eBay cables?
    * Ross-Tech software licence + third party cable?
    * Ross-Tech native?
    * ODBtool?
    * VChecker?
    * Others?

    What are you using? What did it cost? Have you compared it with other methods?

    Are the cheap solutions any good? What would you recommend?
    Have you had any incompatibility issues or horror stories?

    Share your VAG COM experiences/expertise - good bad or indifferent!

      I have a proper RossTech lead bought from the States. I had an ebay lead which worked but would do the things I wanted on the dumbed down software.

      Can't comment on the other set ups.

        i've got a vchecker and it works like a dream. It wasn't really expensive either. Much easier to use as you can have it in your glove box and you dont need to drag your laptop around
