  • Disconnecting Battery and Revo Tune on MK5 2.0T FSI

Will this reset the tune to ‘stock like’ settings?

After a lot of googling I cannot find any conclusive evidence to suggest yes or no.

I have only very recently had a stage 1 tune done, so would be th latest revision of the software.

No, the tune is written into permanent memory on the chip - pull the ECU out of the car, leave it on the bench for 10 years, put it back in the car and it'll be the same. There may be some minor adjustment trims that the ECU makes while driving, but that's minimal and will readjust within minutes

It's only APR that has switching software that reverts to "stock" when you disconnect and reconnect the battery.

Turns out that the battery disconnect reverted the tune to stock-like settings - consistent with the REVO website. I got the 'performance' settings turned back on and wow, much better!!

I think I prefer the REVO tune over the APR I had on my MK6!
