Here is another video of what she sounds like now with the full APR RSC 3" TBE and decat with resonator delete...

Excuse the low quality vid... It was my buddy's GoPro and as he stays so far away he had to email me the vid.

      great information,

Man left SA back in 1996, But as far back as I can remember we only ever used Lindsey Saker's.
Great transformation over so little mileage. the Super Pro ALK will be a massive improvement.

        Some small updates...

Was at Sportech (APR dealer here in South Africa) this weekend for some mods. They installed my AEM WMI kit and loaded my fully loaded ECU with map switching.. This is one hell of a clean workshop!

The decision of where to tap the meth from was a difficult one but I opted for the tank in the boot instead of the washer bottle option.

Car still runs on an everyday 95 file but feels so happy with the WMI. Will do a switch to the 104 file when I have some good race fuel in the tank.

And then I got together with some good friends staying the area. My one bud Dan's Polo 6R GTI (Also APR Tuned) and Sven's Volvo C30 (K16 turbo and other goodies)

Gave the car a great detail and some care over the weekend... Here are the latest pics on her.

And even detailed the engine bay...

And with some of this trusy Octane Booster from NF, I decided to have some fun with the R too.

I mixed a can with 30 litres of fuel which should get our 95RON fuel to around 102/103 and also using my WMI should keep me running in the safe zone with my switched APR 104 Stage 2+ program.

After about 40kms of driving and adaption, I took this video. Sorry for the poor quality. The missus sat in the back holding the phone.

I time about just under 4 seconds which is incredible! I am hoping to get even better launching with a DSG flash and increased Launch Control.

Had the car at our local AWD dyno again...

Here are the figures... My old 95 program figures (left) and new 104 program figures (right)

            And a little video...

And so I had my DSG software done courtesy of our local HPA Motorsports agents!

              And here is the result:

Did a quick vid with my GoPro over the weekend...

This is with my APR 104 map and some octane booster in the tank with WMI on.

Anyway, here is the vid... Car really performs well for it's state of tune.

I was at the strip with my car... Tarlton International Raceway. An NHRA approved drag strip here in South Africa! The event is called Dragwars and this event has about 80% of VAGs attending. It's more of a tuner battle than anything else, but in anyways great fun!

                  Here are some pics...

Scrutineering with all the other car brands.

Parked with some APR cars at the Sportech APR tent. There were 2 Stage 3 Golf Rs there.

And here is a video of my runs.

My APR Stage 2+ Golf R at Dragwars 2013 - YouTube

Best I managed over the 1/4mile was a time of 13.03 and an exit speed of 170km/h... It is a bit of a disappointment, but it was my first time and I'm hoping I can do better next time. Especially since I have a lot of the REVO and local boys breathing fire down my neck that my "APR rocketship" didn't perform. People can be very nasty... Had some fueling issues and I'm also anticipating the launch of the revised Stage 2+ files from APR.

Bought some Meguiars products over the weekend... I must say they really make top class valet products!

With a bit of elbow grease and effort I got the Candy White colour to "pop"

I also went to ODI Raceway a weekend back.

Got the right fuel mix and achieved a time of 12.5s on the 400m and and exit speed of 177km/h with my APR 2+ 104RON file.

I also achieved an exit speed of 235km/h over the 1000m mark!

                          Here is the video...

                            very nice outcome in ODI.

Out of curiosity, what mod's where done to the white Golf R you raced in the last run down the 1/4 Mile

The other white R is tuned by a local tuning house called FRC. He also runs exactly the same modifications as me.

Only difference is he has the RS4 FPR valve and I don't. Although APR do say it is not required on their tune. I have the Run Flap Delete kit and he doesn't.

And secondly he has Toyo Proxes T1S tyres and I'm running the stock Dunlop Maxx GTs.

Had the following parts fitted: Neuspeed Underdrive power pulley, Audi RS4 FPR, and a Torque Solutions PCV block off.
Although APR say a RS4 FPR are not required on their tune, I felt this is a safe reliable mod to do and shouldn't cause any harm.

And I also received my KW Variant 2 coilovers that were installed by a suspension/tyre workshop called Autoquip...

                                Unpacking and checking the kit...

Playing with the rear height adjuster. I adjusted everything to about 5 turns from max lowered setting. Once I feel they have bedded in proper, I can see if I want to max it out.

                                The fitment...

Comparison of the H&R rear spring with the KW rear spring. Note how much thicker the KW's coils are.

                                Rear installed...

                                Front spring comparison.

Front installed... (My car needs a decent BBK now!)

                                Alignment being done.

Picked up an issue after driving away. ABS/ESP/Steering and TPMS lights lit up on my cluster and go away once car is switched off. Autoquip said they would go away, but unfortunately have not. Diagnosis at my local dealer has shown damage caused to the left wheel bearing sensor.
My VW dealer should help sort it out this week...
