Heater hoses I got from work. They're actually Saab ones I chopped up heheh. Bit of a squeeze but they went on.


And the radiator plumbing made up of chopped up scirocco hoses and aluminium tubing!! JUUUUSST enough room for a slim fan in there!!

You using a g60 front engine bracket for the 02a tranny? its almost impossible to find out the correct set up at the moment I hear a Seat Ibiza 1H) 199 273a will work with mk3 vr6 man tranny starter bolts. Any info would be appreciated. Maybe the 020 one will still work?

Yea good info is hard to find you've got to dig deep. I got one off an '89 4cyl passat and just scrounged whatever bolts fit in the end. They might even be the orig s3 ones. Its all back in this thread somewhere, but if I were you do yourself a favour and buy the haynes performance manual written by Tim Stiles. It has been my bible!

ITS AAALLLIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!!

MASSIVE thanks to roccodingo yesterday for doing the battery, alternator and starter wiring. Actually he's helped pretty much everywhere along the way and especially rebuilding the gearbox with the Peloquin.

Yesterday was crazy. By 4.30pm we were finally ready to turn it over and after three years I never even checked the spark plugs!!!?? I know, it's crazy! So it turned over and "POP" out blew no. 1 coilpack, had a look down and saw a big hole!!

Quickly dashed out for some new plugs and it fired up third time and idled perfect!! No black fuel smoke or anything to speak of.

My camera batteries died so its all documented on the blackberry and i'll upload the fun later...

Got a little coolant leak at the bottom rad hose to check, and it started getting a bit noisy as the thermostat was beginning to open, so still a few things to check and then lots of testing.

I'll go for a quick lap around the block today and see how it rolls (it has no exhaust from cat-back so it sounds like a truck atm).
