Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Found that same info in a Passat Manual, so looks like it must be good.

You can use pretty much any inline pump cos the FPR will control the pressure at the injector and dump excess fuel back to the tank.

Just use TBI ED Falcon pump with sock will just fit in, also use 91 cabrio sender unit with return pipe. I also used Cordoba plastic fuel lines. I did this same conversion 3 years ago with no dramas yet.

          Jaimo.
Cheers, I was wondering if anyone had tried the Falcon TBI pump.

I'm still working my way backwards through the wiring at the moment. The aftermarket immobiliser was a birds nest, it took me a little while to get it out of circuit and put things right.

On another note I pulled the diagnostic codes out of the ecm. There's only one code 00515 which is a faulty camshaft angle sensor. I think someone mentioned the hall effect sensor in the dizzy was available from Jaycar????

              fault code

              Hey pete,

Don't worry about that fault code, this is normal when the engine is not running.

With engine running that fault will disappear.

Just Interrogate engine fault memory when running ok.

Note: I have some old pics in (my Gallery) of my MK 1 with ADZ.

              Cheers, jaimo.

Neat job on your MK I Jaimo. I just had a look at your pics. Is that the Seat radiator in there?

I got mine to fit But I attached the breather at the highest point in the top hose to avoid air locks. I was wondering how well all the cooling stuff works. Did you hook up the multispeed fan? I'm running a MK I switch at the moment which turns it on full speed at about 80°C which might be a bit sooner than the seat one does.

I'll have to post a pic of my radiator setup one of these days.

Thanks for the tip on that fault code I didn't think it would run at all if that sensor was faulty. I was reading the codes with one of those OBDII handheld devices and it's instructions said not to interrogate the ecu with the engine running. Just thought it best to read all the fault codes before I swapped it over to make sure it was all working first.

                  All good Pete,
I used everything Cordoba cooling wise, so no over heating probs. Yes is running the twin fans with tiny belt, Radiator & all hoses from cordy. The wiring harness is Cordoba from front to rear (immobilizer also), except for the headlamp, tail lamp, interior light, & bar indicator terminals.
The only drama I had was the window winders hit the dash when used because the dash is longer, so I fitted up after market elec windows with Cordy wiring & switches. Everything is still working fine since conversion. Its like driving a new vehicle inside a MK 1 body.
                  Cheers, Jaimo.
