As the title says, I'm about to attempt to graft the mono motronic injection from a '96 Cordoba into a MK I.
The MK I already has a SEAT 1800 in it that was previously injected. It also started life a a diesel so it has the dual fuel lines and the diesel tank.
I also have a complete, running Seat donor car for the injection system.
If anyone has attempted this before I'd love to hear about it, specifically,
1 Fuel Pump / Tank.
The pump appears to be in the Tank on the SEAT. Should I attempt to mount the entire tank into the MK I or use a different kind of external pump and which kind?
2 Immobiliser
The donor car has the chip in the key style of immobiliser. Is there an easy way to disable the system? I'm open to just installing it and making it work with the MK I ignition, fiddly be looks do-able. Last choice option is just to tape the SEAT key to the immobiliser sensor and jam it all up under the dash never to be seen again.
3. Which bits of the pollution gear are essential? I'll put as much of it as I can back in there but I don't know if it's all going to fit!
4. I'll be unravelling the wiring loom and removing the unrelated bits before re-looming it again properly. Anything I should watch out for?
By the time I'm finished this Mk I will have the following SEAT running gear.
Motor (already in)
Injection/ignition.
Tank?
rear brakes
radiator and fans (already in)
Seat belts. (Rear retractors in front with stalks off SEAT seats.)
5speed gear box (not looking forward to linkages!)
Anything else that fits!
Pete
